About Me — Jafar Novruzov, PMHNP-BC

Discreet Concierge Psychiatry for High Performers

I founded Future Psychiatry to deliver the level of psychiatric care I once needed — deep, unhurried, and fully attuned to the demands of high-stakes lives. My practice combines advanced medication management, neuroscience-backed strategies, and precision sleep optimization to help executives and professionals regain clarity, focus, and resilience when everything else feels optimized yet something is still off.

My own experience with burnout during rigorous residency training — managing full-time clinical work alongside graduate studies — gave me firsthand insight into the toll of chronic stress, insomnia, and decision fatigue. I rebuilt myself using evidence-based tools and now bring that same precision and empathy to every patient.

As a trilingual clinician (English, Russian, Turkish), I connect across cultures and understand the nuances that shape how stress, sleep, and mood manifest uniquely for each person.

How My Clinical Philosophy Was Born

During my residency training in integrative psychiatry, I worked full-time while completing full-time graduate-level coursework. I eventually experienced profound burnout — insomnia, stress, and depressive symptoms — and had to rebuild myself from the inside out. Through neuroscience, lifestyle optimization, nutrition, metabolic healing, sleep science, and mind–body work, I healed — fully.

That journey changed how I practice today. I learned that healing is not purely biochemical; it is emotional, relational, metabolic, and deeply human. This lived experience allows me to support clients with empathy, precision, and grounded understanding.

Professional Background & Distinctions

  • Valedictorian graduate, Hunter College (Bellevue)
  • Clinical Excellence Award in psychiatric residency training
  • Summa Cum Laude honors — CUNY School of Professional Studies
  • Specialized postgraduate training in sleep optimization, trauma-informed care (CBT/DBT), and executive-level stress management

A Foundation in Science and Art

Before I ever entered the mental health field, I spent more than 10 years studying and performing the flute — playing in orchestras and exploring the neurobiological and emotional impact of sound. This artistic background continues to shape my work today. I believe in the therapeutic power of rhythm, resonance, and healing frequencies — and I integrate this philosophy into a calm, grounded, and deeply human clinical presence.
