About Me — Jafar Novruzov, PMHNP-BC
I created Future Psychiatry for adults who feel that something in their mind, sleep, or energy is no longer in sync, even when they keep showing up and doing what is expected of them. Many of the people I see have already tried standard care and still feel unseen or rushed. This clinic grew out of a desire to offer a different kind of attention.
During my own training I worked and studied full time, pushed through chronic stress, and eventually reached a point of severe fatigue and disrupted sleep. Recovery required more than a quick prescription change. I had to look closely at sleep, schedule, physiology, and the way my nervous system was constantly on alert. That experience shaped how I now practice and why I care so much about precision, not speed.
In our work together you can expect unhurried visits, careful medication decisions when they are useful, and thoughtful attention to sleep, stress response, and overall brain health. I work with clients in English, Russian, and Turkish.
Training and background
- Clinical training in integrative outpatient psychiatry with focus on mood, sleep, and complex medication histories
- Valedictorian graduate of Hunter College Bellevue, summa cum laude
- Recipient of a Clinical Excellence Award in psychiatric residency training
- Guest lecturer at Weill Cornell Medicine on the future of healing in psychiatry
- Speaker for AI and technology founders on the impact of constant connectivity and disrupted sleep on mental health
Before entering the mental health field, I spent more than ten years studying and performing the flute. That background in music still informs my work. I pay close attention to rhythm, tone, and pace in each person’s life and aim to offer a calm, steady space where we can make deliberate, well informed decisions about your care.
